4.01 Channel of Dist
| Term | Definition |

| Agents | Intermediaries that assist in the sale and/promotion of goods but does not take the title of them. |
| Channels of distribution | Paths or routes that goods take from producer to the ult. consumer or industrial user. |
| Consumer goods | Tangible items produced for personal use |
| Direct channel of distribution | A channel of distribution in which goods and services move directly from producer to consumer or industrial user |
| Goods | Tangible objects that can be manufactured or produced for resale |
| Indirect channel of distribution | A channel of distribution where goods and services move from producer to intermediaries and then to consumers or industrial users |
| Industrial distributor | A channel member that buys industrial goods and sells them to industrial users. |
| industrial goods | Tangible items that will be consumed by industrial users |
| Intermediaries | Channel members operating between producer and consumer or industrial user to help in the movement of goods and services (middlemen) |
| Producers | People who make or provide goods and services |
| Product | A good or service that a company sells to consumers |
| Retailer | A business that buys consumer goods or services and sells them to the ult. consumer |
| Services | Intangible activities that are performed by other people for money; productive acts that satisfy economic wants |
| Ult. consumers | People who personally use a good or service to satisfy their own needs or wants (final consumers) |
| Wholesalers | Intermediaries that help move goods between producers and retailers by buying goods and selling them to retailers |
