| conspiring | To agree together, especially secretly, to do something wrong, evil, or illegal. They conspired to kill the good king, for they were evil people, who did evil things. |
| gracefully | Characterized by elegance or beauty of form, manner, movement, or speech. She was a graceful dancer, flying through the air, beautiful and elegant. |
| arc | A curving trajectory. The pitcher through the ball in an arc, curving through the air. |
| sporadically | Here and there; at irregular intervals in time. The sunflowers bloomed sporadically throughout the meadow, covering it in little spots. |
| vanquished | To conquer or subdue by superior force, as in battle. He vanquished all his fears, defeating them forever. |
| wisdom | having the power of discerning and judging properly as to what is true or right; possessing discernment, judgment, or discretion. The wise man judged the deed, deciding whether it was right or wrong. |
| horrid | An overwhelming and painful feeling caused by something frightfully shocking, terrifying, or revolting; a shuddering fear. The horrid man made me shudder from inside out. |
| context | The set of circumstances or facts that surround a particular event, situation, etc. |
| suppress | To keep in or repress. I suppressed a laugh as the teacher sat on a whoopie cushion. |
| intently | In a firmly or steadfastly fixed or directed way, as with the eyes, ears, or mind. He listened intently and the young man recited his speech. |
| sacred | devoted or dedicated to a deity or to some religious purpose. The cross is sacred, representing how Jesus died for us. |
| liberated | To set free, as from imprisonment or bondage. The hostage was liberated from jail. |
| kinship | The state or fact of being of a person's relatives collectively. My kinship with my relative is strong. |
| sensation | The operation or function of the organs of touch, taste, etc. The sensation I felt when I touched the cold slime was inevitably uncomfortable. |
| snicker | To laugh in a half-suppressed, indecorous or disrespectful manner. He snickered as his friend slipped into the mud, almost going into a full-blown laugh. |
| cremated | To reduce (a dead body) to ashes by fire, especially as a funeral rite. They cremated the man and put his ashes in a pot. |
| objection | A reason or argument offered in disagreement, opposition, refusal, or disapproval. He had an objection to the idea of moving the library next to the garbage disposal center. |
| constricting | To draw in or press in; cause to contract or shrink; compress. The constricting cobra was hard to escape from, its grip choking me, but I did it. |
| assuring | To declare earnestly to; inform or tell positively; state with confidence to. She confidently assured us that everything would be alright. |
| fragile | Easily broken, shattered, or damaged; delicate; brittle; frail. He fragile vase shattered all over the room. |
