What is a motherboard? A motherboard is a part of the computer that is used for the central computer system, all components are required for the system to be plugged into the motherboard.
What is the CPU? A CPU is a central processing unit, it's basically the brains for the computer, and controls the action of the computer.
What is the RAM? Random Access Memory-It's purpose is to temporarily store data, when it's turned off all the data will be automatically deleted, Volatile/Temporary storage-deleted when computer turns off.
What is the ROM? Read Only Memory- Bios is chip that contains instructions and commands to tell the parts how to start up. Non-Volatile/Permanent Memory.
What is the hard drive? This part of the computer is used to permanently store data.
What is the cooling fan? A cooling fan is used to draw cool air into the case from the outside.
What is the heat sink? This is a metal device designed to absorb and disperse the heat away from the CPU outfitted with built-in fans to help keep both the CPU and the heat sink at an appropriate temperature.
What are ports? These are used to attach external peripherals to computer.
What is an input? An Input is a peripheral used to put information into the computer.
What is an output? An output is a peripheral used to get information out from a computer
What is the difference between ROM and RAM? RAM means Random Access Memory. ROM means Read Only Memory.
