What is input? Peripheral used to put information into a computer
What is output? peripheral used to get information from a computer
What is a motherboard? Central to computer system, all components required for the system are plugged into the motherboard.
What is a CPU? Central Process Unit, Brains of the computer, Controls actions of computer
What is a ram? Random access memory - Temporarily stores data, When turned off all data automatically deleted, Volatile/Temporary storage - Deleted when computer goes off
What is a ROM? Read only Memory - Bios is chip that contains instructions and commands to tell how to start up. non - volatile / permanent memory
Hard Drive Used to permanently store data
Cooling Fan used to draw cooler air into the case from the outside
Heat Sink metal device designed to absorb and disperse heat away from the cpu outfitted with built in fans to help keep both the cpu and the heat sink at an appropriate temperature
Ports used to attach external peripherals to computer
