What is the homeostatic function of the Integumentary System? it separates internal environment from the external environment, providing stability of internal fluid volume.
What are the four basic components of every feedback control loop? Sensor mechanism, Integrator or control center, Effector mechanism, Feedback
What are the three types of carbohydrates? Monosaccharides, Disaccharides, Polysaccharides
What elements do all proteins have? Carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen.
What is an amino acid? The elements that make up a protein molecule are bonded together to form chemical units.
What are the four phases of Mitosis? Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase
What is Meiosis? The type of cell division that occurs only in primitive sex cells during the process of becoming mature sex cells.
What is diffusion? Refers to a natural phenomenon caused by the tendency of small particles to spread out evenly within any given space.
What are the three smaller pathways that chemically linked together to form the larger catabolic pathway known as cellular respiration? Glycolysis, Citric acid cycle, Electron transport system
The kind of chemical reactions catalyzed enzymes fall in several groups called? Oxidases, Hydrogenases, and Dehydrogenases
