TermDefinition
Homeostasis Constant state maintains by the body.
Intracellular Control The processes that regulate what happen inside a cell.
Intrinsic Control Ability for an organ or tissue to regulate it's own internal environment.
Extrinsic Control Control and operates at the system and organism levels.
Lipids Water insoluble organic molecules.
Amino Acids Molecules that combine to form proteins.
Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) The source and energy for use and storage at the cellular level.
Osmosis Is a movement of water through a semipermeable membrane.
Diffusion The movement of molecule from area of high concentration to a region of lower concentration down the concentration gradient.
Epithelial Tissue Thin layer of cells that covers and lines internal and external surfaces of the body.
Bone Tissue Living tissue that gives bones structure and strength.
Diaphysis Long tubular structure in all long bone.
Epiphysis Enlarge wide end of a long bone that articulates with other bones and joints.
Flexion A movement that causes the angle between the bones of a joint to decrease.
Extension The straightening of a joint that increases the angle between two body parts.
