| What is Lag? | Lag represents a specified delay or waiting time between the completion of a predecessor activity and the start or finish of a successor activity. |

| Finish - to - Finish | Predecessor activity must finish before the successor activity can finish. Both activities can run parallel but before the successor can be completed the predecessor must be finished. |
| Start - to - Start | Signifies that the start of the predecessor activity dictates the start of the successor activity. While they may not always start simu, the successor task begins no later than the start of the predecessor task. |
| Start - to - Finish | Less common. The start of the predecessor activity controls the finish of the successor activity. Successor activity must finish once the predecessor starts. |
