Review of subject pronouns and verbs for Unit 2: Interro #2 (FR6)

MotDéfinition
subject (un sujet) the person, place or thing that performs the action in a sentence
verb (un verbe) a word that indicates an action in a sentence
to conjugate the process of changing a verb to match a subject
infinitive (l'infinitif) the unconjugated form of a verb ('to' ...... )
1st person subject refers to yourself ('I/we')
2nd person subject talking TO someone ('you')
3rd person subject talking ABOUT someone ('he/she/it/one/they')
je I (1st person)
tu you (2nd person - singular/informal)
il he/it (3rd person - masculine)
elle she/it (3rd person - feminine)
on one/we (3rd person - general/informal)
nous we (1st person)
vous you (2nd person - plural/formal)
ils they (3rd person - masculine/mixed)
elles they (3rd person - feminine)
Regular verb a verb that follows a specific pattern in order to be conjugated
Irregular verb a verb that does not follow a pattern and must be memorized
être to be (irregular)
I am Je suis
You are (singular/informal) Tu es
He is Il est
She is Elle est
One is On est
We are Nous sommes
You are (plural/formal) Vous êtes
They are (masculine/mixed) Ils sont
They are (feminine) Elles sont
