| Lymphoid Tissue | A specialized tissue and lymphocytes that supports the immune system by producing, storing, and activating immune cells. It includes structures like lymph nodes, the spleen, thymus, and tonsils. |
| Aggregated Lymphoid Nodules | Clusters of lymphoid tissue found in mucosal surfaces, such as small intestines. They play a key role in immune defense by monitoring and responding to pathogens in the gut. |
| Lymph | A clear fluid that circulates through the lymphatic system, transporting immune cells, waste, and excess fluids from tissues to the bloodstream. It plays a key role and maintaining fluid balance and supporting immune function. |
| Interstitial Fluid | The fluid that surrounds and bathe the cells of tissues, providing nutrients and removing waste. It serves as the medium for exchange between blood and cells. |
| Lymphatic Capillary | Tiny, thin walled vessels that collect interstitial fluid and transport it as lymph into the lymphatic system. They play key role and maintaining fluid balance and immune defense. |
| Lacteals | Specialized lymphatic capillaries in the small intestine that absorbed dietary fats and transport them as chyle. They play a crucial role and fat digestion and nutrient absorption. |
| Axillary Lymph Nodes | Clusters of lymph nodes, located in the armpit that filter lymph from the upper limbs, chest, and breast. They play a key role in immune defense and detecting infections or abnormalities. |
| Inguinal Lymph Nodes | Lymph nodes located in the groin area that filter limp from the lower limbs, pelvis, and surrounding regions. They help detect and fight infections or abnormalities in these areas. |
| Tonsils | Lymphoid tissues, located at the back of the throat that helped protect the body from pathogens entering through the mouth and nose. They played a role in immune response by trapping and fighting infections. |
| Thymus | A lymphoid organ located behind the breast bone that is essential for the maturation of T lymphocytes or T cells. It plays a key role in the immune system, particularly in the development of immune tolerance. |
