ALIGNMENT how a information is positioned in a cell (left, right, or center) Text-lft, Number-Right
BORDER A line that can prints along the edge of a table or cells
CLEAR To remove date but leave the basic structure of the worksheet data.
CONTEXTUAL TAB Tabs on the ribbon that only appear when the specific object they control is selected
DATE DATA A Value recognized as a date format
DIALOG BOX LAUNCHER Small arrows next to a group name. Used to open a new dialog with additional options for that group.
DRAG AND DROP To move an item by selecting it and then dragging it with the mouse
EDITING MODE A mode where you can edit part of an entry rather than the entire contents of a cell
FORMULA A mathematical expression that calcuates a value, formulas, always begin with the equal sign, followed by an expression describing the calucation to be performed
FORMAT PAINTER a formatting tool that allows you to duplicate the character or paragraph formatting in the selected text to a new text selection
FUNCTION A built in formula in Excel
NUMBER DATA a numerical value that can be used in a mathematical calculation. Number data is right-aligned.
ORIENTATION How a report will be oriented on a page when printed in Excel.
PAGE BREAK PREVIEW A view in Excel that displays how a sheet will be divided into pages when printed. Anything outside the print area is grayed-out
PANE (TASK PANE) A small window within the Word environment that provides a list of feature-specific options and commands
PAGE LAYOUT VIEW Displays headers and Margins
QUICK ACCESS TOOL BAR A shortcut to common commands. you can customize which commands appear.
TEXT DATA A combination of letters, numbers, and some symbols. Text data is left aligned in a cell
TIME DATA A value in a recongnized time format
