What is Excel? A spreadsheet application
Microsoft Office Excel is? a powerful tool you can use to create and format spreadsheets, and analyze and share information to make more informed decisions.
What is Excel's file extension .XLSX
What is a workbook? it comprised of one or more worksheets, and each worksheet is made up of individual cells.
what does each cell contain? A value, formula, or text
What is a cell? The intersection of a column and a row
What does a cell contain? A constant value (value) or a formula
What is typed into a cell? Anything you type into a cell is content
What is a Formula? an equation that performs mathematical caculations on values in other cells, then places the results in the cell containing the formula in a worksheet
What are prewritten formulas that takes one or more values, performs an operation, and then returns a value or values function
What is a value? Can be edited, changeg, or cleared from the cell
What are the most common values? Test values and number values (values can include date and time of day)
what do text values provide? information about number values in other worksheet cells
what is a worksheet? a spreadsheet, stored in a workbook,
What does a worksheet include? an invisible draw layer, which holds charts, images,and diagrams/can store chart sheets
What is a chart sheet? displays a single chart and is also accessible by clicking a tab
What is Excel's most powerful feature? Performing caculations on numbers
