Periosteum Tough, outermost layer of bone, like very thick skin.
Compact bone Solid, strong, and dense portion of the bone.
Spongy bone honeycomb-like structure found at the ends of long bones.
Axial skeleton Made up of the bones in your head, neck,back,and chest.
Appendicular skeleton Includes the bones in your shoulders, pelvis, and limbs.
Long bones like Femur, humerous
Short bones Like metacarpals
Tendons Connect bone to muscle
Ligaments Connect bone to bone
Cartilage A tough, flexible tissues that lines joints and gives structure to the nose,ears,larynx,and other parts of the body.
Ball and socket Type of joint ex: hip, shoulder
