| Endomysium | A delicate connective tissue membrane that covers the skeletal muscle cells, or muscle fibers. |
| Perimysium | A tougher connective tissue envelope that surrounds a fascicle (bundle) of muscle fibers. |
| Epimysium | A course sheath that covers the entire muscle as a whole. |
| Aponeurosis | Broad flat sheet of connective tissue, which normally merges with the fibrous wrappings of another muscle. |
| Tendon Sheath | Sheets of fibrous connective tissues form double walled tubes around tendons of muscle. |
| Raises eyebrow, wrinkles forehead horizontally | CN VII, frontal belly |
| Facilitates smiling | CN VII, Buccinator |
| Facilitates frowning | CN IV, Depressor anguli oris. |
| Abducts the arm, assists in flexion and extension of the arm | Axillary nerve, Deltoid. |
| Flexes the fingers | Median nerve, Flexor digitorum superficials. |
