TermDefinition
Timeline The area where video clips, audio, and images are arranged in order to create a video project.
Clip A short section of video or audio used in a project.
Split Dividing a video or audio clip into two or more parts.
Transition An effect that smoothly changes one clip to another (e.g., fade, dissolve).
Layer Stacking clips, text, or effects on top of each other to appear simultaneously in the video.
Audio Track The section of the timeline where sound files, like music or voiceovers, are placed.
Video Track The section of the timeline where video clips are placed.
Export The process of finalizing and saving your video in a specific format (e.g., MP4).
Media Library The place where imported video clips, audio, and images are stored and can be used in your project.
Stock Footage Pre-made video clips that can be used in your project, often available in WeVideo.
Text Overlay Words or text added on top of a video.
Effects Visual changes added to video clips, such as slow motion or color adjustments.
Zoom A tool that makes parts of the video larger or smaller to focus on specific details.
Fade In/Fade Out Gradually increasing or decreasing the volume of audio or the brightness of a video clip.
Storyboard A visual plan of your video project, showing the sequence of clips and ideas.
Green Screen A technique where a green background in a video is replaced with a different image or video.
Voiceover Recording of narration or commentary that is added to the video.
Resolution The quality of the video image, typically measured in pixels (e.g., 1080p, 720p).
Aspect Ratio The proportion of the width to the height of the video (e.g., 16 - 9, 4 - 3).
Cut Removing parts of a video or audio clip entirely from the project.
Keyframe A specific point in the timeline where a change happens, such as moving text or adjusting audio
Preview Watching the video project before exporting to check for mistakes or needed changes.
Rendering The process of converting the video project into its final form so it can be exported and shared.
Mute Turning off the sound of a particular clip or audio track.
Trim Cutting parts of a video or audio clip to shorten it
