Excel vocab.
| Question | Answer |

| Active Cell | the cell that is selected in a spreadsheet.the active cell will have a heavy black border |
| Active Sheet | The sheet that is currently displayed in the Excel Workbook |
| Active Workbook | The Excel file (workbook) you are currently using |
| Cell | The intersection of a row and column in a worksheet |
| Cell Address/Reference | The address of a cell indicating its column and row location |
| Clipboard | A location in memory used to temporarily store text or graphics until you need them later. The clipboard group on the home tab has icons to cut, paste and copy text |
| Column | vertical line of cells in a spreadsheet |
| Column Heading | Each column is identified by a different letter |
| Copy | Places a copy of the selected text or data on the clipboard while leaving the original in its original location |
| Cut | Removes data from a cell and places it on the office clipboard |
| Delete | To remove cell(s) from a worksheet, shifting the remaining cells into that space, or to remove a worksheet from a workbook |
| Name box | Box located on the far left of the formula bar which shows the address of the active cell |
| Normal View | View that shows the workbook and worksheets. Use this view to enter data |
| Paste | Inserts the contents of the clipboard at the insertion point |
| Row | Horizontally connected cells |
| Row heading | Each row is identified by a different number |
| Sheet Tab | To select a worksheet as active, click on the sheet tab at the bottom of the display, You can move, rename, copy, and delete sheets ina workbook |
| Spreadsheet | A tool used in business for budgeting, inventory management, and decision making |
| Workbook | The file in which excel stores an electronic spreadsheet |
| Worksheet | One sheet in a workbook. can contain formulas, values, text, and graphics. |
