Adobe Photoshop A computer program used for editing photos, creating images, and designing graphics.
layers Think of it like stacking sheets of paper. Each layer can hold different parts of your image that you can move or edit separately.
canvas The space where you create or edit your image in Photoshop.
Heal Brush Tool A tool used to remove small blemishes, like acne or scars, by blending them with the surrounding area.
Spot Healing Brush Tool Automatically fixes small areas of a picture by blending them with nearby pixels.
Clone Stamp Tool A tool that copies one part of an image and lets you paint over another area with that copied part.
filter Special effects or styles you can apply to your image to change how it looks (e.g., blur, sharpen, distort).
Crop Tool Cuts away unwanted edges of an image, allowing you to focus on the main part.
Opacity Controls how transparent or see-through a layer or part of an image is.
Brush Tool Lets you paint or draw on your image with different colors, sizes, and textures.
Eraser Tool Removes parts of an image or a layer, making those parts see-through.
Selection Tool Helps you choose a specific part of the image to work on without affecting the rest (e.g., Rectangular Marquee Tool).
Transform Tool Lets you resize, rotate, or move parts of your image.
Zoom Tool Allows you to zoom in to see details up close or zoom out to view the entire image.
Magic Wand Tool Automatically selects areas of the same color in your image with just one click.
Move tool Lets you move things around in your image, like layers or selected parts.
Hue Refers to the color of an object in your image.
Saturation Controls how bright or dull a color looks in your image.
Brightness Adjusts how light or dark your image appears.
History Panel A list that shows every action you've done so far, allowing you to undo or go back to earlier steps.
Save As Allows you to save your project under a new name or format without overwriting the original file.
Resolution Refers to how clear or sharp an image is, measured in pixels per inch (PPI). Higher resolution = better quality.
JPG (JPEG) A common file format for saving images that compresses them to reduce file size
PNG A file format that supports transparent backgrounds and is often used for logos or web images.
PSD Photoshop’s default file format, which saves all your layers and edits so you can keep working on it later.
