Feedback Responding to a change in a physiological variable by producing a change in that same physiological variable
Positive Feedback Responding to a change in a physiological variable by amplifying or adding to that change
Negative Feedback Responding to a change in a physiological variable by reversing that change
Homeostasis The existence of a maintenance of a relatively stable environment in the face of a changing external environment

What type of feedback does homeostasis utilize? Negative feedback
Set-point The physiological value around which the normal range fluctuates
Receptor Cell or organ that detects change in a particular physiological variable
Control Center or Integration Center Decision Maker Cell or organ that decides to act in response to the change
effector The muscle or gland capable of producing change in a particular physiological variable
