Use flight progress strips to: - Post current data on air traffic -Post clearances required for ATC control - Record any other air traffic services
Hand-printed strips must conform to the format of machine-generated strips and must be modified to meet any changes in the machine-generated format
A strip will print at each sector an aircraft enters based on the flight’s _____. route and altitude
Strip Block 3 (top left) Aircraft identification/call sign
Strip Block 4 (below 3) Number of aircraft if more than one, heavy aircraft indicator “H/” if appropriate, type of aircraft, and aircraft equipment suffix
Strip Block 5 (below 4) Filed true airspeed
Strip Block 11 (2nd column, first entry) Previous fix
Strip Block 12 (below 11) Estimated time over previous fix
Strip Block 15 (3rd column, top left) Center-estimated time over fix or clearance information for departing aircraft
Strip Block 17 (below 15) Pilot-estimated time over fix
Strip Block 18 (right of 17) Actual time over fix, time leaving holding fix, arrival time at non-approach control airport, or symbol indicating cancellation of IFR flight plan for arriving aircraft, or departure time (actual or assumed)
Strip Block 19 (below 17) Fix; for departing aircraft, add proposed departure time
Strip Block 20 (3rd column, first entry) Altitude information (in hundreds of feet)
Strip Block 21 (4th column, first entry) Next fix/coordination fix
Strip Block 25 (5th column, first entry) Point of origin, route as required for control and data relay and destination
