analyze to examine something closely and break down into smaller parts to understand it better
race restate answer cite explain race is a strategy used to respond to comprehinsion question
thesis the main point or argument you make in your writing it should clearly state your interpretation
details specific pieces of information from the text that support your analysis
evidence proof from the text that supports your thesis or main points it can be direct quotes specific events or facts from the reading
support the act of backing up your claim or thesis statement with evidence and details from the text
closure bringing your writing to a closing writing a satisfying conclusion
explain to make something clear or understandable
irrelevant ideas pieces of imformation that do not contribute to the main idea or thesis of your analysis
relevant ideas specific pieces of information from the text to support your thesis
