Introduction Terms

sender originates the message
receiver to whom the message is relayed

Verbal Communication communication with words
Nonverbal Communication communication without words
Rate how fast or slowly a speaker speaks
Volume how loud or soft a speaker speaks
Tone the attitude or mood of the words a speaker speaks
Pitch how high or low the words are spoken
Paralanguage changing verbal communication nonverbally; examples: rate, volume, tone, pitch
