How is the hyoid bone shaped? | “u” shaped |
Why is the hyoid bone unique? | It doesn’t articulate directly with any other bone of the body |
What is the hyoid bone anchored to? | The styoid process of temporal bone |
What does the hyoid bone do? | Helps anchor tongue and raises and lowers larynx for speech and swallowing |
Where are the ossicles located? | In the middle ear |
What do the ossicles do? | Helps transfer sound waves to cochlea |
What is the cochlea? | The organ of hearing |
What is the are the 3 ossicles? | The malleus, inus, and stapes |
What is the malleus? | Hammer |
What is the inus? | Anvil |
What is the stapes? | Stirrup |
