WordDefinition
World Wide Web A part of the Internet that anyone in the world with a computer can access.
Home Page The first page of a Web site. It usually has links to other pages or places within the Web site.
Download To transfer information from one computer to another.
Link An area or a button on a Web page that will take you to a different web page or area on the same web page.
ISP A company, which connects a computer to the Internet.
URL An address used to locate a Web site.
Web Site A group of pages on the Internet about a related topic linked together (could, however, be a single page).
Cite To properly list the resources where you obtained information.
Web Page A single page on the web.
Internet A network of computers that are joined together and can share information.
Plagiarism Copying someone else’s work and claiming it as your own.
Fair Use Policy An Act, which allows teachers and students to lawfully use copyrighted materials.
Search Engine A tool used to search the Internet that is indexed or separated by computer programs.
Search Directory A tool used to search the Internet that is indexed or separated by a person or people.
Copyright A federal law, which gives owners the right to earn money from their work.
