console | box contains error messages (bottom right) |
editor keys | button that clicked, displays a list of short cut keys |
import | adds functionality by using code (libraries) |
program | line if code that's activated when the "Run" button is clicked |
where | begins block of code that can only be used with the line immediately above it |
identifier | names of variables or functions |
operators | math symbols +, -, *, and / |
punctuation | square brackets round parentheses comma |
literal data | includes numbers such as 1 or text that's enclosed in double quotes like "chuck wagon" |
specification | statement at the top of the input panel that species the purpose of program |
documentation | a description of all the available libraries for your reference |
library | collection of predefined function |
import statement | using keyword import followed by the name of the library being imported. Once the library is IMPORTED into the code |
hanging indent | formatting of a paragraph,citation, or definition for which all except for the first are indented |
header | the specification, name and date, and import statement |
body | where the actual code MUST INCLUDE PROGRAM |
type | general classification of data that describes how it is intended to be used |
list | collection of objects of the same type objects are separated by commas |
empty list | list with no objects inside |
signatures | a shortened version of something *signatures are singular* |
