Research Report&TOC

Research Report and Table of Contents

TermDefinition
Research Report a multi-page document that usually contains several sub-topics of information related to one main topic
Title Page includes the name of document, writer's name, teacher/professor's name, and date of publication
Title the identifying information and is keyed in the top left margin of the report
Header place on every page of the report and includes the writer's last name and page number
Body of the Report content (paragraphs)
Parenthetical citations reference notes keyed in the body of the report
Endnotes/Footnotes type of reference format used in reports, but recommended for use only when necessary to add commentary or to clarify
References used to cite a source
Work Cited a complete listing of references cited parenthetically in the report. It is keyed on a separate page
Notes a complete list of resources and references used to accompany endnote and is keyed on a separate page
Table of Contents used to accompany a report, document, or manuscript to list the topics and sub-topics in the order in which they occur
Components of TOC Table of Contents Title, List of topics and subtopics and their respective page numbers, and page number in roman numeral style at the bottom of the page
