File Formats

QuestionAnswer
File Extension The last few letters following a file name, which indicate the type of file it is. Ex. .pdf, .psd, .jpg, .mov
.JPG Image file
Raster Graphics Computer graphics that consist of a grid of pixels, also known as a bitmap.
Vector Graphics Digital images comprised of points, paths, curves, and geometric shapes.
Lossless Compression Compression that reduces file sizes but not the quality.
.GIF File format that supports animation.
.PNG Supports transparent backgrounds for graphics
Adobe Illustrator Software used to create vector graphics
Adobe Photoshop Software used to create raster graphics
.ZIP Lossless Compression file that takes up less space.
