Nucleus Storage and transmission of generic information
Ribosomes Synthesizing the component of the plasma membrane that gives a cell is specificity
Golgi apparatus Sorts and modified proteins into discrete transport vesicles that travel to the plasma membrane for exocytosis or to organelle within the cell
Endosomes Sorting, modifying the directing vesicular traffic of cells
Mitochondria Most of the energy that is required for physiological event to occur
Lysosomes Breaks down bacteria and the debris from dead cells
Peroxisomes Consume molecular oxygen, removes hydrogen from organic molecules (lipids, alcohol)
Smooth ER Site at which certain lipid molecules are synthesized
Rough ER Protein synthesis/ packing of ribosomes
Nucleolus Regions of DNA that contain the genes for RNA
