Muscular Dystrophy | Group of genetic diseases characterized by atrophy (wasting) of skeletal muscle tissues. |
Poliomyelitis | Viral infection of the Torn muscle nerves that control skeletal muscle movement |
Myasthenia Gravis | Chronic disease characterized by muscle weakness, especially in the face and throat |
Hernias | Weakness of abdominal muscles can lead to a hernia |
Posture | Maintaining optimal body position |
Perineum | The muscular pelvic floor fill-ing the diamond-shaped outlet |
Antagonist | muscles that, when contracting, directly oppose prime movers |
Synergists | muscles that contract at the same time as the prime mover |
Fixator muscles | Function as joint stabilizers |
intercarpal joints | Points of articulation be-tween the eight carpal bones. |
Mastoiditis | Inflammation of the air spaces within the mastoid portion of the temporal bone |
Zygomatic | Cheekbones; form part of floor and sidewall of eye orbit; also called malar bone |
