Arts and culture Community component fostering creative expression and artistic pleasure
Ballot A process of voting in secret, touch screen electronically, optical scan, punch card, absentee in writing
Citizenship The status of being a member of a place (i.e. neighborhood, city, state, nation, school) and the qualities a person is expected to have as a member of that community.
Collaboration The action of working with someone or a group to create something.
Education and Training Community component which fosters the learning of new knowledge and skills for individuals, birth through adulthood
Empower To make someone stronger and more confident, especial in controlling their life and claiming their rights.
Family The basic unit of society
Infrastructure The basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g., buildings, roads, and power supplies) needed for the operation of a community
Law and Order Community component which provides safety in the form of laws and regulations and manages disputes between community members.
Media Community component which is a source of information and entertainment.
Parks and Recreation Community component which supports physical activity, social interaction, and connection with nature.
Progressive Tax Tax designed to take a larger percentage of income from the wealthy than the poor.
Proportional Tax Tax that takes the same percentage of income from the wealthy and poor.
Regressive Tax Tax which takes a higher percentage of income from the poor than from the rich.
Stakeholders Those individuals or groups with an interest or concern in the success of a business or effort.
Transportation Community component that is a type of infrastructure allowing for the movement of people and goods.
Volunteerism The policy or practice of volunteering one's time or talents for charitable, educational, or other worthwhile activities, especially in one's community.
