| libel | a written defamatory statement that gives and unfavorable unjust impression |
| assault | an intentional, unlawful attempt to hurt some one by force |
| emancipated minor | a person under the legal age who is self supporting and living apart from parents or a guardian |
| felony | a major crime such as murder, rape, or burglary punishable by more of a sentence than that given for a misdemeanor |
