TermDefinition
Afferent A signal traveling toward a particular center or point of reference.
Efferent A signal is moving away from a center or other point of reference.
Hypothalamus Part of the brain where it is considered the thermostat where information is relayed through the nerves.
Monosacharrides Simple sugars also known as relatively small carbohydrates
Lipids Water insoluble organic biomolecules
Cholesterol Cholesterol is any of a class of certain organic molecules called lipids. It is a sterol, a type of lipid.
Steroid A steroid is a biologically active organic compound with four rings arranged in a specific molecular configuration.
Cytoskeleton A microscopic network of protein filaments and tubules in the cytoplasm of many living cells, giving them shape and coherence.
Microtubules A microscopic tubular structure present in numbers in the cytoplasm of cells, sometimes aggregating to form more complex structures.
Axial Skeleton Made up of the 80 bones within the central core of your body.
