Homeostasis State of steady internal, physical, and chemical conditions maintained by living systems
Negative Feedback Maintain homeostatis and oppose changes
Positive Feedback Accelerate a change such as uterine contraction during labor and delivery
Nucleic Acid Large molecule composed of sugar, nitrogen base, and a phosphate bond
DNA A double helix strand molecule that carries genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism
RNA A nucleic acid present in all living cells that act as a messenger carrying instructions from DNA
Diffusion Down a concentration gradient
Osmosis Lower salute concentration to higher salute concentration
Genome A person's entire set of DNA
Active Transport Low concentration to high concentration
Transcription mRNA synthesis
Tissue Group of cells performing the same function
Axial Skeleton made up of the bones in your head, neck, back and chest
Appendicular Skeleton hands, feet, upper extremity, lower extremity, shoulder girdle, and pelvic bones
Hematopoiesis formation of WBC, RBC, and platelets
