| Homeostasis | State of steady internal, physical, and chemical conditions maintained by living systems |
| Negative Feedback | Maintain homeostatis and oppose changes |
| Positive Feedback | Accelerate a change such as uterine contraction during labor and delivery |
| Nucleic Acid | Large molecule composed of sugar, nitrogen base, and a phosphate bond |
| DNA | A double helix strand molecule that carries genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism |
| RNA | A nucleic acid present in all living cells that act as a messenger carrying instructions from DNA |
| Diffusion | Down a concentration gradient |
| Osmosis | Lower salute concentration to higher salute concentration |
| Genome | A person's entire set of DNA |
| Active Transport | Low concentration to high concentration |
| Transcription | mRNA synthesis |
| Tissue | Group of cells performing the same function |
| Axial Skeleton | made up of the bones in your head, neck, back and chest |
| Appendicular Skeleton | hands, feet, upper extremity, lower extremity, shoulder girdle, and pelvic bones |
| Hematopoiesis | formation of WBC, RBC, and platelets |
