French Subject Pronouns

vous You (polite form for one person OR for a group of people)

ils they (all male, or a mixed group including at least 1 male)
elles they (all female)
VOUS would take the place of... ...Michael et toi (you both, you guys, y'all)
ELLES would take the place of... ...Madeline et Julia
ILS would take the place of... ...Thomas et George
NOUS would take the place of... ...Maurice, Juliette, et moi
Use VOUS when you are talking to your BOSS or any GROUP of people (even a GROUP of friends).
Use TU when you are talking to your friend or family member.
Use NOUS when you are talking about yourself AND somebody else.

il and elle CAN ALSO MEAN it (Il for masculine objects, Elle for feminine objects)
La pizza? Elle est délicieuse! The pizza? IT is delicious!
Le steak? Il est bon. The steak? IT is good.
