TermDefinition
Digital Footprint All of the information online about a person either posted by that person or others, intentionally or unintentionally
Cookies Small text files that are sent to your computer from certain websites. They track your behavior and transactions.
GeoLocation The location of a device identified by GPS. It can help locate a lost or stolen mobile device.
MetaData data that describes other data
Data Facts, figures, and other evidence gathered through observations.
Spreadsheet A program that allows you to use rows and columns of data to manage, predict, and present information.
Browser History A list of web pages a user has recently visited it may also list the day and time the site was visited
Digital Literacy the set of attitudes, understanding, and skills needed to handle and communicate information and knowledge effectively, in a variety of media and formats
Blog A series, or log, of discussion items on a page of the World Wide Web
Dossier a set of documents containing information about a person or event; a file
Derogatory showing a critical or disrespectful attitude
Social Networking the use of dedicated websites and applications to interact with other users, or to find people with similar interests to oneself.
Viral like or caused by a virus
Profile Outline of the face, head, or figure seen in a side view.
Privacy settings An interface where a user is given partial control of what data about themselves is collected and who can access it.
