HUGE for clearing heat from the Upper Jiao. Is bitter & cold. Goes to LU-ST as well as LI/GB. Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae)
Clears Heat, Dries Damp-- especially for Middle Jiao. "Great for dysentery." (But dysentery is LOWER Jiao!!??) Goes to Heart and Liver as wells at Stomach and Large Intestine. Huang Lian (Rhizoma Coptidis)
Bitter and cold. Goes to KID and UB-- so Lower Jiao (Clear Heat-Dry Damp). She says it works for STDs but couldn't say for what specifically... Huang Bai (Cortex Phellodendri)
Liver, Liver, Liver. (Although it enter LIV, GB AND ST). Infectious hepatitis, jaundice, STDs (although she emphasize STD indication much more wth Huang Bai...). "Sedates LIV heat" and "Excellent-- or the #1-- for clearing LIV Fire." Long Dan Cao (Radix Gentianae) aka "dragon gallbladder herb"
Bitter and Cold with a "descending nature" Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis) aka "bitter ginseng"
