3D Animation - #3

3D Animation - Intro to Intermediate Part 3

TermDefinition
vertices the only things that Blender animates on. If you have a long cylinder and want it to animate by bending in the middle it will need to be subdivided so as to provide points within the model to bend on.
Active Object the final object selected that will become the object in a group of objects that will control the movement of all the objects. This is used when parenting multiple things together.
Loop Cuts edge loops that sort of encircle an object and give it places to be bent by its internal armature or bone structure.
bone an object in a 3D tool that can be put inside a mesh to control its movement. an item of armature that controls and enables a body/model/mesh to move and reshape itself.
connected bones that are parented and that touch each other physically in the 3D space; this can automatically happen with extrusion or subdivision of bones.
offset bones that are parented but that don’t touch each other physically in the 3D space; this can happen with duplication or just adding a new bone.
root bone also known as the master bone is the top bone in the hierarchy of an armature. It can control the movement of all the other bones in its hierarchy.
deformation is change in size or shape of a 3D object. When part of your model moves or bends or stretches or in any way is re-formed or deformed

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
