InfluenceImpact Effect
Bass was inspired by the swiss design style work which has asymmetric layouts and simplistic designs. We can see this in his poster Vertigo through is asymmetric layout with the text all over to the left hand side. This makes the poster off balance and gives an air of vertigo to mimic the title.
Bass used a cutout typography which he created in many of his works. We see this in the text of Vertigo, with each letter being slightly differently shaped and unaligned. This gives his posters a unique feel
Bass was further inspired by the swiss design style work which has asymmetric layout and simplistic designs. Saul bass his used silhouettes and simple outlines for the characters in his piece Vertigo. This creates a bold and modern feel to the work.
