Basic recommandation for the French LC Oral exam

| This exam is to be treated as a conversation | The flow/rythm is important and has to look natural |
| Show Enthusiasm and Education | It sends the signal you have prepared yourself |
| Think Content more than Answering the question itself | Think therefore Tenses/grammar/vocab/expressions |
| Talk as much as possible without repetition | It is your Oral so make the most of it |
| Smile | Discreet and sincere smile |
| Speak with a french Accent as much as you can | Even if it looks you are caricaturing the french |
| Be confident | It shows preparation |
| Lead the conversation | Once again, it is your oral, bring the conversation where you want to go |
| Do not hesitate to correct yourself | Making mistakes is ok if you are able to correct them on the way |
| Do not talk too fast fast/too slow | Right pace and rythm is important |
| Never use one word answer | This exam is not a Police Investigation |
| Do not be affraid to talk even if stopped by examiner | If stopped you may have done the job or made a mistake |
| Not a word in English/Irish if possible | Use fillers ! Bon!/ Bien! / Alors! / Et bien /.... |
| Avoid nerves to show | Do not fidgit or show impatience |
| Be polite | On the way in; Bonjour Madame, Mademoiselle, Monsieur.... but also on the way out; Merci, au revoir!...et bonne journée... |
| Most important; We are not asking for the truth so Use it to your advantages! | The only points you cannot lie are; name/age/DOB/appearance/clothes/school |
| Try to find a way to enjoy | Practice/practice/practice... |
| Prepare a document if you aim for High grade in French (H1-H3) | Select a topic/person/idea you are passionate about. |
| If you are not wearing a uniform, think what could be used as an advantage | Design on tee shirt, logo...pin... |
| If wearing a Uniform, you may be a prefect or have responsabilities | Appearance is important on the day. Stance also. |
