WHAT IS MEANT BY HOMEOSTASIS? It's meant to remain constant, the same, maintain balance.
How does the internal environment of the human body remain stable? Negative Feedback mechanism functions to stabilize physiological variables. It inhibits the change of disturbances.
WHAT ARE THE FIVE LAYERS THAT MAKE UP THE EPIDERMIS (SUPERFICIAL TO DEEP)? Stratum Corneum; Stratum Lucidum; Stratum Granulosum; Stratum Spinosum; Stratum Basal
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE FOR HAVING SKIN? It provides protection; Allows for sensation; It regulates our body's temperature; It's responsible for excretion/secretion; aids the production of Vitamin D; and provides flexibility.
WHAT ARE MELANOCYTES? They are cells found in the Stratum Basal, responsible for producing melanin, it provides the pigmentation in the skin.
WHAT ARE THE TWO TYPES OF BONE MARROW AND THEIR FUNCTION? Red Marrow, it's responsible for producing blood cells; Yellow Marrow, it's responsible for storing fats in the cells.
WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF ENZYMES? It's a specialized protein the speeds up the chemical reaction of cells.
WHAT ARE THE FIVE BIOMOLECLUES? Carbs; Lipids; Nucleic Acids; Proteins
DESCRIBE BIOMOLECLUES. They are organic molecules responsible for the maintenance and metabolic processes of living organisms.
