| Term | Definition |

| Digital Footprints | A person's unique set of traceable digital activities, actions, contributions and communications |
| Cookie | Information saved by your web browser to remember your last visit, keep track of you, etc. |
| GeoLocation | Software capable of finding the geographic position of a device connected to the Internet. |
| MetaData | Data that provides information about other data. (Ex: File size) |
| Data | Statistics that is used for reference & stored inside software. |
| Spreadsheet | A file that exists of cells in rows and columns and can help arrange, calculate and sort data. |
| Browser History | The list of a user's past searches or visited sites on a browser. |
| Digital Literacy | The ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information. |
| Blog | A discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web (www). |
| Dossier | A collection of data and documents on a subject. (events, people, places, etc.) |
| Derogatory | A negative piece of information that can hurt you. |
| Social Networking | The use of dedicated websites and applications to interact with other users, or to find people with similar interests to oneself. |
| Viral | Something that has been spread out rapidly throughout the internet. |
| Profile | A brief written description that provides information about someone or something. |
| Privacy Settings | A set of settings that controls who sees information about you, usually on social media, browsers, and software. |
