Digital Footprint | the information about a particular person that exists on the internet as a result of their online activity. |
Cookies | a piece of data from a website that is stored within a web browser that the website can retrieve at a later time. Cookies are used to tell the server that users have returned to a particular website. |
GeoLocation | the process of finding, determining and providing the exact location of a computer, networking device or equipment. |
MetaData | a set of data that describes and gives information about other data. |
Data | information that has been translated into a form that is efficient for movement or processing. |
Spreadsheet | a computer program that can capture, display and manipulate data arranged in rows and columns. |
Browser History | A list of websites an individual has visited recently. This includes any data associated with the website and how long the user was on the website. |
Digital Literacy | process of teaching and learning about technology and the use of technology |
Blog | A series, or log, of discussion items on a page of the World Wide Web |
Dossier | a file of detailed information on a person or subject |
Derogatory | Expressing a low opinion; intended to hurt the reputation of a person or thing. |
Social Networking | the creation and maintenance of personal and business relationships especially online |
Viral | relating to or involving an image, video, piece of information, etc., that is circulated rapidly and widely from one internet user to another. |
Profile | the sum content about a person on the Internet. |
Privacy Settings | the part of a social networking website, internet browser, piece of software, etc. that allows you to control who sees information about you. |
