| Complete Cleft | Goes all the way into nose, includes lip, alveolus, hard palate, and velum |

| Bilateral cleft | Clefted on both let and right sides of lip/nose |
| Incomplete cleft palate | only posteriorly cleft (at incisive foramen and behind it) |
