Plot The events of the story
Conflict The conflict is the most important part of plot. Without conflict, you have no story.
Exposition the introduction of the the characters and the basic situation
Rising Action the portion of the story where the conflict increases
Climax The peak of action and conflict
Falling Action the portion of the story where the conflict decreases
Resolution the outcome of the conflict
Internal conflict when a character must face something within himself or herself.
External conflict when a character must face someone outside of himself or herself.
Direct characterization when we are told upfront about a character’s traits or qualities.
Indirect characterization is when we must INFER things about a character’s traits or qualities.
Man vs. Man A struggle in which a character faces off against another person or character
Man vs. Nature A struggle in which a character must face extreme or dangerous weather conditions or animals
Man vs. Self A struggle in which a character must make a difficult decision or contend with something about himself
Man vs. Society A struggle in which a character must oppose people in charge, a way of thinking, or man-made “rules”
Protagonist The main Character Not every nice character is a protagonist Not every protagonist is nice Usually there is only one protagonist
Antagonist The problem The bad/guy The main character problem Goes against the main character Not every antagonist is mean

Ribbons Ribbon is about a girl's grandma who comes to live with her because of the British. The girl thinks that the grandma doesn't like her and treats her differently than she treats her brother.
Ribbons pt.2 ...Eventually she finds out about her grandma's feet when asking her grandma to tie the ribbon on her ankle. After that they become close.
Amigo Brothers Amigo Brothers are about two boys who love boxing. One day at a boxing practice the coach picks the two friends to go against. Both of them were worried about there friendship and if they were still going to be friends after.
Amigo Brothers pt.2 ...So, a few days before the match they both decide not to talk to each other until after the match. When the day of the match came both of them played against each other and when the winners were going to be announced they both left.
A Stranger Came Ashore A Stranger Came Ashore is about a kid named Robbie who is suspicious of a guy named Finn who was the only survior on a ship wreck. Robbie thinks he is dangerous and is sure after he touched the selkie and fell on a cliff and Finn saved him.
A Stranger Came Ashore pt.2 ...Then Robbie finds out that that Finn wants to cut Elspeth's blonde hair off, put teh hair in the selkie kingdom, and after that she will die.
