Uniformitarianism States the geologic process that happened in the past that can be explained be current geologic processes.
Fossil Remains of an organism long ago.
Trace fossil a fossilized structure that formed in sedimentary rock by animal activity on or in soft sediment.
Climate The weather conditions.
Ice core a long cylinder of icecap.
Relative dating Determining weather an object is younger or older than others.
Superposition The principle that states younger rock is always naturally above older rock.
Unconformity A break in the geologic record that is made when rock layers are eroded.
Geologic column an ordered arrangement or rock layers.
bands how much snow or water fell that year.
