Google Sheets

TermDefinition
Rows Horizontal part of the worksheet identified by numbers.
Column Vertical part of the worksheet identified by letters.
Active cell The cell that is currently selected. Has thick black border around it.
Autofit Automatically resizes the column to fit the widest entry.
Formula bar Displays the active cells content. Located directly above the cells.
Autosum used to add a long column of numbers.
Autofill Small square in the lower right corner of a selection.
Range Selection of two or more cells.
Active sheet The sheet the user is currently working on in a workbook. The name of the tab of the active sheet is bold.
Workbook A collection of worksheets
= The first thing that must be entered in a formula in Excel.
Labels The words or titles used in spreadsheet.
Cell address The location of a cell, expressed by cell coordinates.
Ascending sorting Feature Alphabetical Order Lowest to Highest
Descending Sorting features...Z-A; Highest to lowest.
