Vocabulary Terms For Docs

TermDefinition
Word Processing A program that allows you to type a paragraph or something else
Default Font & Font Size The font and size of the words that you have not edited
Single Spacing A way to close in a paragraph and not have a space
Double Spacing A paragraph style that is double spaced
Make a Copy A way to copy a document and save it to your google drive
Download To save the doc
Version History A way to go over all of the websites that you have been on are things that you have searched up.
Move To reposition anything
Underline To underline the highlighted text
Italicize A way to change the way your font looks
Cut Remove the selection so you can paste it somewhere else.
Copy Duplicate the selection so you can paste it somewhere else.
Paste Add content that has been cut or copied to your document.
Paste Without Formatting Add content that was cut or copied to your document and remove all formatting.
Share A way to send someone a doc are slide
New Creates a new blank document in the same folder you are currently working in.
Open Retrieves a document saved previously.
Increase Font A way to increase your font size
Print & Print Preview That is a icon on the ribbon that looks like a printer
Rename It is a way to title your doc.
Decrease Font A way to shrink your font
Page Color A way to change the color of your doc
Font Color A font color is something that changes the color of your font
Capitalization A way to capitalize your text
Highlight A way to highlight your text
Superscript Way to make your numbers small on the bottom
Subscript Way to make your numbers small on the top
Strikethrough A way to strike your text
Bold A text style to bold your words
Bullets A way to bullet your text
Numbering A way to number your text
Viewer People can view, but can’t change or share the file with others.
Commenter People can make comments and suggestions, but can’t change or share the file with others.
Editor People can make changes, accept or reject suggestions and share the file with others.
Left Alignment A way to change your paragraph to go to the left
Center Alignment A way to put your paragraph centered in your docs
Justified Alignment To make your paragraph put it in a way.
Right Alignment A way to change your paragraph to go to the right.
Shading A way to shade the area of your paragraph
Borders It is a way to Border your paragraph in lines
Find & Replace find a word or phrase in your document and replace it with another word or phrase.
Select All select the entire contents of the document for formatting changes.
Table A table is a grid of rows and columns that organizes complex information so that it is easy to find and understand.
Rows A row is the information that is arranged horizontally (from left to right).
Columns A column is the information that is arranged vertically (up and down) in the table.
Cells A cell is where a column and row cross. Here is an example of a table:
Word Count A way to check how many words are in the document
Image/Online Pictures A way to insert an image by double clicking .
Word Art A to make your words look crazy.
Shapes A way to insert a shape or a smile face into your docs.
Drawing Insert a new Google Drawing or a Google Drawing from your Drive.
Charts A chart is defined as a diagram that illustrates and compares data.
Hyperlink To Turn a word into a link.
Headers A text above the document
Footers A text at the bottom of your document
Page Numbers Insert a page number at the top or bottom of your page. You can also choose the position of the page number.
Text Box A text box is something that you have to type in.
Page Orientation Page orientation is the direction in which a document is displayed or printed.
Special Characters/Symbols Insert characters that not numbers or letters present on your keyboard
Margins (default size) The two basic types of page orientation are portrait vertical and landscape horizontal
Landscape A way to print you doc
Portrait A another way to print you doc
Spelling/Grammar Check A way to check you spelling a grammar which it underlines the text to indicate that it is incorrect
Undo Removes the action done.
Redo Adds the last action deleted back into the document.
Zoom A way to zoom in on something
Format Painter A way to copy the design of a different text.
Clear Formatting To put the text what it was usually was
Help A piece on the ribbon that helps you with things on docs
