| Leader | A person who has commanding authority or influence |
| Leadership | Capacity to lead |
| Power | Ability to act or produce an effect |
| Position Power | A capacity to to influence others based on their acceptance that the influencer occupies a formal position |
| Reward Power | Conveyed through rewarding individuals for compliance with one’s wishes. |
| Expert Power | The perception that a certain person has an elevated level of knowledge or a specific skill set that others in an organization don't have |
| Identity Power | Ability to influence others based on their identity with the person |
| Leadership Style | The manner and approach of providing direction, implementing plans, and motivating people to accomplish a task |
| Initiative | Energy or aptitude displayed in initiation of action Human Relations - Relation with or between people. |
| Autocratic Leadership | One person controls all the decisions and takes very little inputs from other group members |
| Democratic Leadership | Members of the group take a more participative role in the decision making process |
| Free-rein Leadership | Leaders are hands off and allow group members to make the decisions |
| Delegate | Trust a task or responsibility to another person, typically one who is less senior than oneself |
| Self-managed teams | A small group of employees who take full responsibility for delivering a service or product |
| Open Leader | Having the confidence and humility to give up the need to be in control while inspiring commitment from people to accomplish goals |
| Situational Leader | Adapts to each situation or task, and the needs of the team |
