Pulmonary ventilation Term for breathing
spirometer used to measure the volume of air exchanged in breathing
Eupnea normal quiet breathing
Hyperpnea increased breathing
Hyperventilation increase in pulmonary ventilation in excess of the need for oxygen.
Hypoventilation decrease in pulmonary ventilation that results in elevated blood levels of carbon dioxide.
Dyspnea refers to labored or difficult breathing
bronchitis production of excessive tracheobronchial secretions that obstruct airflow and bronchial mucous glands are enlarged
Ingestion taking food into the mouth and going through the digestive tract
Brush border the microvilli on the epithelial cells that line the small intestine
