what are Mechanoreceptors? | they deform or change the position of the receptor resulting in the generation receptor potential. examples are applying pressure to the skin to stop bleeding |
what are Chemoreceptors? | activated by either the amount or the changing concentration of certain chemicals. Our senses of taste and smell depend on chemoreceptors. |
Where are somatic senses found? | in the skin, muscles, ligaments, eyes, and ears, for example, and mediate a wide variety of sensory information such as touch, pain, body position, vision, and hearing. |
