Digital Footprint | a trail of data you create while using the Internet. It includes the websites you visit, emails you send, and information you submit to online services. |
Cookies | text files with small pieces of data — like a username and password. |
GeoLocation | the identification of the geographic location of a user or computing device via a variety of data collection mechanisms. |
MetaData | a set of data that describes and gives information about other data. |
Data | facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis. |
Spreadsheet | an electronic document in which data is arranged in the rows and columns of a grid and can be manipulated and used in calculations. |
Browser History | the list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated data such as page title and time of visit. |
Digital Literacy | refers to an individual's ability to find, evaluate, and compose clear information through writing and other media on various digital platforms. |
Blog | a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries (posts). |
Dossier | a collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject. |
Derogatory | insulting or disrespectful. |
Social Networking | the use of dedicated websites and applications to interact with other users, or to find people with similar interests to oneself. |
Viral | relating to or involving an image, video, piece of information, etc., that is circulated rapidly and widely from one internet user to another. |
Profile | a short article giving a description of a person or organization. |
Privacy Settings | the part of a social networking website, internet browser, piece of software, etc. that allows you to control who sees information about you. |
