| Cybersecurity | The protection of internet-connected systems such as hardware, software and data from cyberthreats |
| Virus | A piece of code which is capable of copying itself and typically has a detrimental effect, such as corrupting the system or destroying data |
| Copyright infringement | When a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, without the permission of the copyright owner. |
| Plagiarism | The practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own |
| Digital etiquette | Rules about the proper and polite way to communicate with other people when you're using the Internet |
| Hacker | A person who uses computers to gain unauthorized access to data |
| Cyber warfare | The action to attack and attempt to damage another nation's computers or information networks |
| Cryptography | Secure communications techniques that allow only the sender and intended recipient of a message to view its contents |
| Ethics | Moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity |
| Infringement | Violation, a breach, or an unauthorized act |
| CAPTCHA | A category of technologies used to ensure that a human is making an online transaction rather than a computer |
